Exit, Succession & Wealth Strategist
Tom Cardwell
2,000+ clients advised. Structuring exits that protect owners and families.

Tom Cardwell has worked with business owners, investors and families since 2006, advising more than 2,000 clients across business advisory, debt restructuring, inheritance tax planning, succession and wealth structuring.
His perspective is shaped by experience on both sides of the table. Alongside his advisory work, Tom has founded, operated and grown businesses of his own, giving him a practical understanding of the commercial pressures, personal risks and difficult decisions faced by business owners.
His interest in exit planning developed after receiving approaches from potential purchasers for one of his own businesses. The experience exposed a common problem: many owners build successful companies without properly preparing the business, their personal finances or their family for an eventual transaction.
A strong exit is not simply about agreeing the highest headline valuation. It requires the right ownership structure, a commercially credible business, careful preparation for due diligence and a clear plan for protecting and managing the proceeds after completion.
This led Tom to develop the Strategic Architecture Review — a structured process that connects an owner's business strategy with their personal, family and financial objectives. A successful exit should not create a new set of problems. The business, the transaction and what happens afterwards must be planned together.
Within Build · Scale · Exit, Tom focuses on the personal and structural considerations surrounding growth, succession and exit. He helps owners establish what they are ultimately building towards, identify risks within their current arrangements and coordinate the specialist advice required to put an effective long-term structure in place.
